Hey Youth, Youth Ministers, and adults!!!
Here are our weekly games for you and your youth group to try!
Penny Chinny and Giants, Wizards, and Elves!
This is a great game to play with any age group, just make sure no one swallows the penny. So give everyone a penny. On ‘go’ they must balance the penny on their chin while trying to knock everyone else’s penny off. This means the penny will lay flat on the chin and the students will be looking up into the air. Last one standing with the penny balanced wins. It is quick and easy and the perfect game if you are waiting for doors to open before a conference or for a speaker to talk.
Giants, Wizards, and Elves
This is the classic ‘Rock, Paper, Scissors” game that young people still play today but with a twist. This is a full body game of rock, paper, scissors. Separate the kids into two teams. Each team secretly decides whether they want to be a giant, wizard, or elf. Then the teams create two opposing lines and chant “GIANTS, WIZARDS, ELVES, ______” (they shout whichever one they have chosen). Whenever they say one of the characters they make a sign for that
character. Let your kids create their signature moves before game begins. If either team wins, they chase the opposing team and try to tag them and bring them back to their side. If both teams pick the same character, then play a new round. Giants beat wizards, wizards beat elves, and elves beat giants. Also note that this game can changed with various twists like Arrows, Sword, and Axe.
