We have received many, many great resource ideas for families and communities to use this Lent! Check out some of our suggested resources below:
The Holy Herald: This devotion resource comes directly from the Youth Ministry team! Sign up to receive text message devotions from Ash Wednesday through Easter Sunday. For Lent, our devotions will reflect on the story of Naomi and Ruth. Sign up is easy! Just follow the instructions below:
2016 Lent Reflections from ERD: Episcopal Relief and Development (ERD) has a Lenten Meditations book available for download. Devotions are available in both English and Spanish. This year's devotions focus on creating economic opportunity and strengthening community, with a specific focus on empowering women. ERD also has a variety of other materials for congregations to use, including materials to help celebrate an Episcopal Relief & Development Sunday in your church. These materials could make a great basis for a mission project in your congregation this Lent.
Living Well Through Lent 2016: This e-book is available from Living Compass and promotes reflection on wellness during the Lenten season. Print copies are also available for groups who wish to use the study together.
Praying in Color Templates: Pray with color as a Lenten practice! This webpage includes free templates for use with Lenten meditations, along with ideas for how to use the templates. This resource would be a great addition to Lent family devotions, or to your children's ministry!
Racial Justice Courses from ChurchNext: A good choice for older youth and adult groups, these five FREE online courses explore issues of racial justice, based on this year's Trinity Institute Conference at Trinity Church, Wall Street. Two of the courses are available for access now, with the others coming at a later date. ChurchNext also provides great ideas for how to implement this curriculum in your parish!
We hope these resources are useful to you and your parish! Contact us if you need additional information or resources.
